Marriage Encounter is a weekend getaway that helps married couples rediscover themselves individually and as a couple. The weekend is God-centered and comes out of the roots of the Christian faith. Twin Cities Marriage Encounter is an inter-faith Christian experience and welcomes couples of all faiths or no faith. The organization is not connected to any particular denomination. Individual and couple spirituality are shared versus a denomination. Guided by a team of trained volunteer couples, each participant takes an honest look at self, explores their relationship with each other, their family and society.  Great marriages don't just happen. Couples create them! All marriages need attention, effort and nurturing. Marriage Encounter provides an opportunity for you to explore your relationship together and find ways to make it more fulfilling and stronger for a lifetime. The weekend format helps couples communicate openly and honestly. There is no group sharing on a Marriage Encounter weekend.

What is interesting is that most of us don't spend enough time nurturing our marriages. We will spend years getting an education or training for our jobs and careers. We go to seminars, read trade publications and take continuing education classes to keep our job skills sharp but we are lucky to get a night out together as a couple once every month or two. There are few jobs that have the commitment "as long as we both shall live." It is crucial to put as much enthusiasm and work into our marriages as we do our jobs and physical improvement.
